The Torrevieja Carnival continues to expand its reach beyond our borders thanks to the participation of its carnival troupes in some of the most important events on the national scene.

On this occasion, the Desafío troupe took part in the Madrid Pride 2026 celebrations – one of Europe’s most high-profile social and cultural events – bringing the colour, creativity and spirit of the Torrevieja Carnival to the streets of the capital. The Pride march and parade brought together hundreds of thousands of people and featured dozens of floats and groups from all over Spain.

Desafío’s participation provides an excellent opportunity to continue showcasing the artistic calibre and the work carried out by Torrevieja’s comparsas, who act as ambassadors for a festival that continues to grow every year in terms of participation, quality and profile.

Initiatives of this kind help to boost the profile of the Torrevieja Carnival on the national stage, promoting it and cementing its reputation beyond the city.

On behalf of the Torrevieja Carnival Cultural Association, we would like to congratulate all the members of the ‘Desafío’ troupe for proudly representing our carnival by joining forces with the ‘It Gets Better’ association in the fight against teenage bullying, and for continuing to fly the flag for Torrevieja at top-tier events.

Their participation demonstrates, once again, that the Torrevieja Carnival is an open, dynamic festival with a growing national profile.
