The Torrevieja Carnival Cultural Association has officially concluded the election process for the renewal of its Board of Directors for the 2026–2030 term, with the slate headed by Francisco Pizana Cutillas being declared the winner, as it was the only slate to stand.

Consequently, and in accordance with Article 6 of the Association’s Electoral Regulations, it was not necessary to hold a vote, and the new Executive Committee, which will lead the organisation for the next four years, was automatically appointed.

With this election, Francisco Pizana begins a new chapter at the helm of the Association, marking his third consecutive term in office. This period will be characterised by the continuation of the work carried out in recent years and by new challenges aimed at further developing the Torrevieja Carnival.

Among the new team’s main objectives are to continue driving the festival’s growth, strengthen the Association’s structure and financial independence, continue to improve and modernise the events planned for the 2027 Carnival, and make progress on one of the organisation’s major challenges: securing recognition of the Torrevieja Carnival as a Festival of National Tourist Interest.

As part of this new phase, Gema Sáez Torregrosa is joining the Board of Directors. She is a carnival enthusiast who has been involved with the festival for many years and has actively collaborated with the Association in organising various events over recent years.

The new Board of Directors is composed as follows:

• President: Francisco Pizana Cutillas
• Vice-President: César Berná Poquis
• Secretary: Armando Bueno Valero
• Treasury: Laura Paredes Martínez and Silvia Torres González
• Members: Maravillas Guillén Costa, Iván Ghan Bernial and Gema Sáez Torregrosa

In addition, the Torrevieja Carnival Cultural Association has announced that it will shortly be convening a meeting with representatives of carnival troupes, groups and individuals to present the plans for this new phase, the proposed programme and the key upcoming dates in the carnival calendar.

Torrevieja Carnival thus continues to look to the future, committed to the growth of one of the city’s most iconic festivals.
