It took place during a recognition gala for all those who work on the promotion of popular festivals in the province.

        For the second year running, the Costa Blanca Tourist Board once again brought together at the ADDA a large group of representatives of associations and groups from the Alicante region to pay tribute to all the people who, day after day, are involved in promoting the customs and traditions of the province. Our president Fco. Pizana, the Carnival queens and representatives of several comparsas showed the best of our magnificent Carnival.

        This large-scale event is intended to boost this segment and recognise those celebrations that represent a significant tourist attraction for the region. The well-known Valencian television presenter Loren Donat hosted this showy and colourful gala, which featured performances by various music and dance groups, as well as the screening of several destination videos representing the five festive concepts of the Costa Blanca: Fiestas del Fuego, Holy Week, Moors and Christians, Carnival, and popular and traditional festivals.

        In addition, during the event commemorative plaques were presented to the representatives of the festivals that in recent years have taken part in the parades promoted by the autonomous body of the Alicante Provincial Council during the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) through the central streets of Madrid.
