That same evening, the Board of Directors presented the trailer for the documentary film “Torrevieja Carnival 2019”.

     The halls of the Torrevieja restaurant Mesón El Huertano hosted, on the night of last Saturday 6 April, the traditional Carnival Dinner. A room packed with more than 200 people, representing 14 local comparsas, was filled with joy, friendship and, above all, lots and lots of fun.

     The night began with a small gift to the comparsas from the Board of Directors, with which it wanted to thank the attending comparsas for their willingness to have a good time that night and, above all, to take part in the Carnival, in all its events, not only in the month of February.

     But it was before dessert that the traditional and most eagerly awaited moment arrived, in which the Carnival Queens for the following year's edition are chosen. On this occasion, the Senior and Junior Queens, Paola Fernández and Ángela Ferrándiz, were in charge of reading out the candidates presented, and it was then announced that, as had been decided at an extraordinary meeting, the candidates had already been chosen. Our Queen, Paola Fdez., announced, after the screening of an emotional video, Ms Brenda Hernández, of the comparsa Aquí Hay Tomate, as Carnival Queen 2020. At that moment she came forward and, in a short but emotional speech, thanked all those who have supported her. Queen Paola Fdez. placed the Crown of Queen-Elect on her, and thus she was chosen as Senior Queen of the 2020 Carnival.

     Then, following the same procedure, after an emotional presentation video, the Junior Queen, Ángela Ferrándiz, likewise placed the Crown of Queen-Elect on Ms Triana Marín, surrounded by members and relatives of the comparsa No Ni Na, which the little girl represents; and so the four queens celebrated such an exciting moment.

     The night continued with some fun games in which the Queens gave the winners tickets to the Velice Nightclub, a company that collaborates with the Carnival. The night ended with the presentation and screening of the trailer for the film-documentary “Torrevieja Carnival 2019”, a project with which the current Board of Directors wants to create a calling card for our magnificent carnival that will also help in obtaining the titles of Festival of Regional and/or National Tourist Interest.

     Thus ended a magical night in which young and old enjoyed Carnival; from the Board of Directors we would like to thank all attendees for their time and participation.
