LAST NIGHT, TORREVIEJA WAS ABUZZ WITH THE NIGHT-TIME CARNIVAL

The Torrevieja Carnival proved, once again, that when the city decides to celebrate, it does so without restraint. The so-called “craziest night” turned into a veritable explosion of creativity, music and fantasy that wound its way along Ramón Gallud Street until it reached a Plaza de la Constitución that was completely swept up in the spirit of the occasion.

The night-time parade was once again one of the highlights of the programme. Free from the pressure of competition during the procession, dance troupes, groups and individual performers put on a spectacular show, where imagination set the pace. Turnout was massive and the public were keen to join in: hundreds of people also turned up in fancy dress, playing an active part in a collective celebration that has become a hallmark of Torrevieja.

This year’s event has also marked a significant step forward: more prizes have been awarded than in previous years, and with larger cash prizes, reflecting the Carnival’s continued growth and the high artistic standard of its participants.
